How to measure for a curved S-Fold / Wave Fold curtain track

Before you start

Confirm the mounting position

Choose the ceiling or wall mounting line before taking any dimensions for the curve.

Note any cornices

If cornices are present, establish the usable fixing line before measuring the track path.

Identify the fixing surface

Confirm that the proposed curved track has a suitable fixing surface along the full run.

Compare fabric samples in the room

Compare fabric samples in the room before ordering to confirm the S-Fold / Wave Fold colour and texture.

Use a track designed for curved installations

Curved installations require a compatible designer or motorised track profile. Confirm the track type before measuring the bends.

Confirm the angle of each corner

Standard curved-track configurations can accommodate 90° corners, while 45° corners are available through the Box & Bay Curtains range. Multiple bends and custom angles can also be considered; for more than two bends, or for angles other than 45° or 90°, contact us before ordering so the track can be measured correctly.

Ceiling fit curtains

Create the illusion of greater height with ceiling-mounted curtains. They are ideal for straight-edged ceilings and can also be fitted inside cornices. For the most secure installation, curtain tracks should be fixed into ceiling battens or another suitable structural surface.

• Before moving on, our curved tracks are designed to fit corners with precise 90-degree angles. If you need 45 degree angles, please navigate to the box bay curtain guide.
• For this setup, position your track snugly inside the corner or wrap it around the corner, then choose either 1 or 2 bends. If your track requires more than 2 bends, please contact us directly for assistance.
• At this stage, choose sheer curtains for a soft, airy look, or blockout fabrics to reduce incoming light and enhance privacy.
• For the measurements, select a left stack, right stack, centre opening or multiple openings to suit your windows, doors and access requirements.
• When configuring this option, choose our designer track in white to complement light-coloured walls, or select black or silver to coordinate with other features in your home. Half-moon tracks are not available for curved sections unless separate manual butting tracks are used.
• Before moving on, select your preferred curtain hem for the ideal finished appearance.
• For this setup, for taller curtains, choose a longer operating wand or select no wand for a cleaner look.
• At this stage, choose between a fixed-flow track, where each curtain panel follows a predetermined path, or a free-flow track that allows the panels to move more freely.
• Use an S-Fold / Wave Fold heading for the consistent ripple profile used across this curtain range.
• For the measurements, layer sheer and blockout curtains on a double-track system for added style, light control and privacy. Contact us for guidance on ordering two curved tracks for the same window.
• For double curtains, keep the sheer and blockout layers on the S-Fold / Wave Fold system and use the spacing specified for the selected double track.
• When configuring this option, choose from three curtain finishes: just off the floor, touching the floor or puddled.
• Before moving on, curtains can also be paired with roller blinds to provide even greater control over light, privacy and insulation.

Wall fit curtains

Create a luxurious, designer look by extending your curtains across the full width of your wall. Wall fit curtains are best secured into wall studs for maximum stability, but they can also be fixed to suitable concrete, stone, brick, or tile surfaces.

• For this setup, our curved tracks are designed to fit corners with precise 90-degree angles. If you need 45 degree angles, please navigate to the box bay curtain guide.
• At this stage, position your track snugly inside the corner or wrap it around the corner, then choose either 1 or 2 bends. If your track requires more than 2 bends, please contact us directly for assistance.
• For the measurements, add motorisation and choose between wired or battery-powered curtain motors.
• When configuring this option, select sheer curtains for a soft, airy look or blockout fabrics for greater light control and privacy.
• Before moving on, choose from three floor finishes: just off the floor, touching the floor or puddled.

Check Your Corner Angles

For this setup, check that your corner is a precise 90° right angle. To confirm, place an A4 sheet of paper into the corner—if it fits snugly against both sides, your corner is 90°. The same applies when wrapping your track around an outside corner.

At this stage, if you require a curved track with more than 2 bends, please contact us.

For the measurements, if your angles differ from 90° or you’re unsure, get in touch and we will help you measure correctly. For 45 degree bay windows, please visit The box bay curtain measure guide.

Measuring for 1 corner? Go to Step 2.
Measuring for 2 corners? Go to Step 3.

Measure the required width

When configuring this option, remember to note whether your curtains will fit into the corner or wrap around it, as you will select this option when ordering.

Before moving on, then proceed to Step 2B for wall-to-wall curtains, or Step 2C for curtains framing your corner window.

For this setup, to measure for wall-to-wall curtains on both sides of your corner, follow these steps:

1. At this stage, run the tape from the corner to the left wall and record the measurement.

2. For the measurements, run the tape from the corner to the right wall and record the measurement.

When configuring this option, if you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice. These two measurements will determine your track width.

Before moving on, for wall-to-wall windows or doors, allow approximately 30% of the track width for a one-way curtain stack, or approximately 15% on each side for a centre-opening curtain.

For this setup, you do not need to make any allowance for the curved section of the track or calculate the fabric required — we will take care of that for you.

At this stage, to measure for curtains that frame your corner window, follow these steps:

1. For the measurements, run the tape from the corner to the outside edge of the left window frame or recess and record the measurement.

2. When configuring this option, run the tape from the corner to the outside edge of the right window frame or recess and record the measurement.

Before moving on, if you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice.

For this setup, add at least 30% to both measurements to allow the curtains to stack clear of the glass. These adjusted measurements will determine your track width.

At this stage, confirm there is enough wall space to accommodate the extended track width.

For the measurements, you do not need to make any allowance for the curved section of the track or calculate the fabric required — we will take care of that for you.

Measure the required width

When configuring this option, take note of whether the curtains will fit into or wrap around each corner. You will select your preference for each corner when ordering.

Before moving on, then proceed to Step 3B for wall-to-wall curtains, or Step 3C for curtains framing the left and right windows.

For this setup, to measure for wall-to-wall curtains across all three sides, follow these steps:

1. At this stage, measure the ceiling width from the left corner to the left wall and record it.

2. For the measurements, measure the ceiling width across the middle section and record it.

3. When configuring this option, run the tape from the right corner to the right wall and record it.

Before moving on, if you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice. These three measurements will determine your track width.

For this setup, for wall-to-wall windows or doors, allow approximately 30% of the track width for a one-way curtain stack, or approximately 15% on each side for a centre-opening curtain.

At this stage, you do not need to make allowances for the curved sections of the track or calculate the fabric required — we will take care of that based on your track measurements.

For the measurements, to measure for curtains that frame your left and right windows, follow these steps:

1. When configuring this option, run the tape from the left corner to the outside edge of the left window frame or recess and record the measurement.

2. Before moving on, measure across the middle section and record this measurement.

3. For this setup, run the tape from the right corner to the outside edge of the right window frame or recess and record it.

At this stage, if you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice.

For the measurements, to allow the curtains to stack clear of the glass, add at least 30% to the left and right measurements. These adjusted measurements, together with the original middle measurement, will determine your track width.

When configuring this option, confirm there is enough wall space to accommodate the extended left and right track sections.

Before moving on, you do not need to make allowances for the curved sections of the track or calculate the fabric required — we will take care of that for you.

Set any split positions (optional)

For multiple openings, For this setup, you can choose up to 2 splits and specify exactly where you’d like them positioned. Splits are ideal for sliding and bi-fold doors, making it easier to access different sections.

At this stage, select the number of splits required and which side of your corner window they should be placed on. If you don’t provide split positions, we will space them evenly for you.

If you don’t require any splits, For the measurements, proceed to Step 5.

For a single custom split, When configuring this option, run the tape from the left side to the exact split position and record the measurement. Confirm you measure along the section of wall where the split will be located.

If the split is on the left section and your curtains are framing the window*, Before moving on, run the tape from where the track will begin on the ceiling, rather than from the wall edge. This ensures the split position is measured accurately.

For this setup, *Do not use this method for wall-to-wall curtains. It only applies when framing the window.

For two custom splits, At this stage, run the tape from the left side to each split position and record both measurements. Confirm you measure along the section of wall where each split will be located.

If one or both splits are on the left section and your curtains are framing the window*, For the measurements, run the tape from where the track will begin on the ceiling, rather than from the wall edge.

When configuring this option, do not use this method for wall-to-wall curtains. It only applies when framing the window.*

Measure the curtain drop

Before moving on, to measure the curtain drop, follow the steps below:

For a single corner:

1. For this setup, run the tape from the ceiling to the floor on the left side, in the corner, and on the right side. If you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice.

2. Record the largest measurement.

For two corners:

1. At this stage, run the tape from the ceiling to the floor on the left, middle, and right sections. If you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice.

2. Record the largest measurement.

For the measurements, if the difference between the three measurements is greater than 10 mm, choose a puddled finish.

Select the floor finish

When configuring the curtain, select one of the three floor-finish options below.

Enter the measurements exactly as taken. Do not add or subtract from the dimensions yourself; the selected finish allowance is handled during production.

When configuring this option, if you choose Just Off the Floor, your curtains will be made approximately 5–10 mm shorter than your drop measurement, so they sit just above the floor.

Before moving on, if you choose Touching the Floor, your curtains will gently skim the floor by up to 5 mm.

If you choose Puddling, your curtains will puddle on the floor by approximately 20 mm. For a deeper puddle, add a note in the checkout comments.

Select the stack direction and track flow

Select the wand size you need. Longer curtain drops generally work better with a longer wand for comfortable everyday operation.

Next choose the stack arrangement: left, right, centre opening or multiple openings. Choose the stack direction around everyday access, nearby obstructions and the part of the opening used most often.

Finally, select either a fixed-flow or free-flow track. A free-flow track allows the curtain panels to be moved and stacked freely along the track.

Enter the curtain order online

With the dimensions complete, enter the curtain order online. The hem finish is chosen during the online configuration. Do not make a separate hem allowance; that adjustment is applied for you.

Enter the measured dimensions in millimetres (mm) exactly as taken, without altering them for the chosen finish.

Set any split positions (optional)

For multiple openings, At this stage, you can choose up to 2 curtain splits and specify where you’d like them positioned. Splits are ideal for sliding and bi-fold doors, making it easier to access different sections.

For the measurements, select the number of splits required and which side of your corner window they should be placed on. If no split positions are provided, we will space them evenly for you.

If you don’t require any splits, When configuring this option, proceed to Step 5.

For a single custom split, Before moving on, run the tape from the left side to the exact split position and record the measurement. Confirm you measure along the wall where the split will be located.

If the split is on the left section and your curtains are framing the window, For this setup, run the tape from where the track will begin on the wall, rather than from the edge of the wall. This ensures the split position is accurate.

For two custom splits, For the measurements, run the tape from the left side to each split position and record both measurements. Confirm you measure along the wall where each split will be located.

If one or both splits are on the left section and your curtains are framing the window, When configuring this option, run the tape from where the track will begin on the wall, rather than from the edge of the wall. This ensures the split positions are accurate.

Before moving on, do not use this method for wall-to-wall curtains. It only applies when framing the window.

Mark the starting measurement

For this setup, use a pencil to measure and mark where your curtains will begin, indicating the position of the top of the curtain track. Use the ceiling or window frame as a guide to keep the track level across the entire width. For maximum support and stability, we suggest fixing the curtain track into wall studs wherever possible.

Measure the curtain drop

For single-corner or two-corner windows, run the tape from where the curtains will hang down to the floor at three points across the window area. For a single corner, measure the left wall, the corner, and the right wall. For two corners, measure the left, middle, and right walls.

At this stage, record the largest of the three measurements as your curtain drop. If there is more than a 10 mm difference between the measurements, consider opting for puddling to accommodate the uneven floor level.

Select the floor finish

When configuring the curtain, select one of the three floor-finish options below.

Enter the measurements exactly as taken. Do not add or subtract from the dimensions yourself; the selected finish allowance is handled during production.

For the measurements, if you choose Just Off the Floor, your curtains will be made approximately 5–10 mm shorter than your drop measurement, so they sit just above the floor.

When configuring this option, if you choose Touching the Floor, your curtains will gently skim the floor by up to 5 mm.

If you choose Puddling, your curtains will puddle on the floor by approximately 20 mm. For a deeper puddle, add a note in the checkout comments.

Select the stack direction and track flow

Select the wand size you need. Longer curtain drops generally work better with a longer wand for comfortable everyday operation.

Complete Your Custom Curved Curtain Order Online

With the dimensions complete, enter the curtain order online. The hem finish is chosen during the online configuration. Do not make a separate hem allowance; that adjustment is applied for you.

1. For the measurements, run the tape from the left corner to the outside edge of the left window frame or recess and record the measurement.

2. When configuring this option, measure across the middle section and record this measurement.

3. Before moving on, run the tape from the right corner to the outside edge of the right window frame or recess and record it.

For this setup, if you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice.

At this stage, to allow the curtains to stack clear of the glass, add at least 30% to the left and right measurements. These adjusted measurements, together with the original middle measurement, will determine your track width.

For the measurements, confirm there is enough wall space to accommodate the extended left and right track sections.

Set any split positions (optional)

For multiple openings, Before moving on, you can choose up to 2 splits and specify exactly where you’d like them positioned. Splits are ideal for sliding and bi-fold doors, making it easier to access different sections.

For this setup, select the number of splits required and which side of your corner window they should be placed on. If you don’t provide split positions, we will space them evenly for you.

If you don’t require any splits, At this stage, proceed to Step 5.

For a single custom split, For the measurements, run the tape from the left side to the exact split position and record the measurement. Confirm you measure along the section of wall where the split will be located.

If the split is on the left section and your curtains are framing the window*, When configuring this option, run the tape from where the track will begin on the ceiling, rather than from the wall edge. This ensures the split position is measured accurately.

Before moving on, *Do not use this method for wall-to-wall curtains. It only applies when framing the window.

For two custom splits, For this setup, run the tape from the left side to each split position and record both measurements. Confirm you measure along the section of wall where each split will be located.

If one or both splits are on the left section and your curtains are framing the window*, At this stage, run the tape from where the track will begin on the ceiling, rather than from the wall edge.

For the measurements, do not use this method for wall-to-wall curtains. It only applies when framing the window.*

Measure the curtain drop

When configuring this option, to measure the curtain drop, follow the steps below:

For a single corner:

1. Before moving on, run the tape from the ceiling to the floor on the left side, in the corner, and on the right side. If you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice.

2. Record the largest measurement.

For two corners:

1. For this setup, run the tape from the ceiling to the floor on the left, middle, and right sections. If you have cornices, run the tape from the inside edge of the cornice.

2. Record the largest measurement.

At this stage, if the difference between the three measurements is greater than 10 mm, choose a puddled finish.

Select the floor finish

When configuring the curtain, select one of the three floor-finish options below.

Enter the measurements exactly as taken. Do not add or subtract from the dimensions yourself; the selected finish allowance is handled during production.

For the measurements, if you choose Just Off the Floor, your curtains will be made approximately 5–10 mm shorter than your drop measurement, so they sit just above the floor.

When configuring this option, if you choose Touching the Floor, your curtains will gently skim the floor by up to 5 mm.

If you choose Puddling, your curtains will puddle on the floor by approximately 20 mm. For a deeper puddle, add a note in the checkout comments.

Select the stack direction and track flow

Select the wand size you need. Longer curtain drops generally work better with a longer wand for comfortable everyday operation.

Next choose the stack arrangement: left, right, centre opening or multiple openings. Choose the stack direction around everyday access, nearby obstructions and the part of the opening used most often.

Finally, select either a fixed-flow or free-flow track. A free-flow track allows the curtain panels to be moved and stacked freely along the track.

Enter the curtain order online

With the dimensions complete, enter the curtain order online. The hem finish is chosen during the online configuration. Do not make a separate hem allowance; that adjustment is applied for you.

Enter the measured dimensions in millimetres (mm) exactly as taken, without altering them for the chosen finish.

Check Your Corner Angles

Before moving on, check that your corner is a precise 90° right angle. To confirm, place an A4 sheet of paper into the corner—if it fits snugly against both sides, your corner is 90°. The same applies when wrapping your track around an outside corner.

For this setup, if you require a curved track with more than 2 bends, please contact us.

Measure the required width

For the measurements, remember to note whether your curtains will fit into the corner or wrap around it, as you will select this option when ordering.

When configuring this option, then proceed to Step 2B for wall-to-wall curtains, or Step 2C for curtains framing your corner window.

Before moving on, to measure for wall-to-wall curtains on both sides of your corner, follow these steps:

1. For this setup, run the tape from the corner to the left wall and record the measurement.

2. At this stage, run the tape from the corner to the right wall and record the measurement.

For the measurements, for wall-to-wall windows or doors, allow approximately 30% of the track width for a one-way curtain stack, or approximately 15% on each side for a centre-opening curtain.

When configuring this option, you do not need to make any allowance for the curved section of the track or calculate the fabric required — we will take care of that for you.

Before moving on, to measure for curtains that frame your corner window, follow these steps:

For this setup, take note of whether the curtains will fit into or wrap around each corner. You will select your preference for each corner when ordering.

At this stage, then proceed to Step 3B for wall-to-wall curtains, or Step 3C for curtains framing the left and right windows.

For the measurements, to measure for wall-to-wall curtains across all three sides, follow these steps:

1. When configuring this option, measure the wall width from the left corner to the left wall and record it.

2. Before moving on, measure the wall width across the middle section and record it.

3. For this setup, run the tape from the right corner to the right wall and record it.

At this stage, for wall-to-wall windows or doors, allow approximately 30% of the track width for a one-way curtain stack, or approximately 15% on each side for a centre-opening curtain.

Mark the starting measurement

Before moving on, use a pencil to measure and mark where your curtains will begin, indicating the position of the top of the curtain track. Use the ceiling or window frame as a guide to keep the track level across the entire width. For maximum support and stability, we suggest fixing the curtain track into wall studs wherever possible.

Measure the curtain drop

For single-corner or two-corner windows, run the tape from where the curtains will hang down to the floor at three points across the window area. For a single corner, measure the left wall, the corner, and the right wall. For two corners, measure the left, middle, and right walls.

For this setup, record the largest of the three measurements as your curtain drop. If there is more than a 10 mm difference between the measurements, consider opting for puddling to accommodate the uneven floor level.

Select the floor finish

When configuring the curtain, select one of the three floor-finish options below.

Enter the measurements exactly as taken. Do not add or subtract from the dimensions yourself; the selected finish allowance is handled during production.
