Taking Useful Window Photos for Your Shutter Order

For those that are needing help with ordering, we may request photos. Clear window photos make it much easier to identify mounting options, obstructions and unusual details before you order.

What we need to see

Take one photo from far enough back to show the entire opening, including the wall or architrave around it. Then take closer photos of any detail that could affect the shutter.

1. Pull furnishings out of the way

Move curtains, blinds, furniture and decorative items aside where practical. The edges of the recess and architrave should be visible.

2. Show the complete architrave or recess

Include all four sides of the opening in at least one image. For a sill, tiled reveal or unusual trim, add a closer photograph from an angle.

3. Use good lighting

Avoid photographing directly into a very bright window if it makes the frame appear dark. Turn on room lights or adjust your position so the important details are visible.

4. Photograph obstructions

Take close-ups of handles, winders, locks, flyscreens, alarm sensors or anything else that sits within the recess. If several windows look similar, label the photos by room.

5. Label your photos

It is extremely helpful to clearly identify which room each shutter belongs to, especially when ordering multiple shutters with similar dimensions but different architrave or recess depths.
