How to Keep Plantation Shutters Looking Their Best
Regular light cleaning is usually all plantation shutters need to stay looking tidy and operating smoothly.

Routine dusting
Close the louvres and dust across them with a soft microfibre cloth, duster or a vacuum using a soft brush attachment. Reverse the louvres and repeat on the other side.

Wiping marks
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth for fingerprints or light marks, then dry the surface. Avoid soaking the shutter or allowing water to pool around hardware.

Products to avoid
Do not use abrasive pads, strong solvents or harsh cleaners unless the product instructions specifically allow them. Test any cleaner in an inconspicuous area first.
Check moving parts
Occasionally check hinges, panel alignment and louvre tension. If a panel begins to rub or a louvre feels loose, make a small adjustment rather than forcing the component.
