Which Shutter Mount Should You Choose?

If your window has a sufficiently deep and unobstructed recess, an inside mount is usually the first option to consider. If the recess is shallow or window hardware occupies the required space, an outside mount is often the better solution.

For this step, as a general guide, around 70 mm of usable clearance is ideal for an inside mount. Run the tape from the front of the recess to the furthest obstruction rather than to the glass alone.

Choose an outside mount when the shutter or louvres would otherwise collide with handles, winders, flyscreens or an inward-opening window, or where there is no usable recess.

If the decision is not obvious, photograph the window from the front and side and include a clear view of the hardware and recess depth before placing the order.
